Marco Komenda is a German centre-back who joined Holstein Kiel in July 2020. After coming through youth sides at Darmstadt and early senior spells at Sportfreunde Siegen and Borussia Mönchengladbach II.

Despite being one of Kiel’s more modestly paid defenders, Komenda has made over 70 first-team appearances and is valued for his left-footed passing and defensive reliability.
